Need Proof Law of Attraction Works? - Keep Good Records

The Universal Laws are an ongoing process and sometimes when things take time to grow and take hold, we can get frustrated and let our anxieties take over.  If you feel fear of not reaching your goal keep in mind that this energy too manifests.  Cultivating patience and flexibility is absolutely essential if you want to work with the universal laws and have them work with you.

Picture yourself planting a seed and waiting for it to grow.  You give it what it needs - water and sunlight, and then you have faith that as long as you are taking those steps your seeds will bloom.  Law of Attraction and the other universal laws work in similar ways.  You plant the seed, then take the steps necessary to make that seed grow.  When you plant that seed in your garden do you sit and obsess over it? Do you sit and think of all the possible worst case scenarios as to why that seed probably isn't going to make it? Ironically enough, when most of us set goals to "grow ourselves" and take action on our dreams - we do tend to sit and obsess.  Well guess what? While you're sitting there obsessing over all that is wrong or could go wrong, you are not taking the steps necessary to grow the seed you planted!

In the movie "The Secret" There was one part where they were talking about when you drive at night - your headlights only allow you to see so far in front of you, yet you drive forward trusting that the road will be there.  You don't stop driving fearing the road will end abruptly.  You don't sit and obsess about "what if the road isn't there?" - You drive.  You are taking action and not stopping.  I thought that was a brilliant analogy for how to make law of attraction work for you.  So much of the other mainstream law of attraction is all about "visualizing" and "wishing" - it's lazy and does not work.  Nothing is going to just fall into your lap - you MUST do the work. This was one piece of advice I could truly get behind - drive forward anyway - do NOT stop.

Remember the Universal Law of Gender - when you plant a seed it takes time, space, and nurturing to grow.  No amount of obsessing or wishing otherwise changes this fact.  It can, however, stop you in your tracks if you aren't careful.

Ok so how do I know if I am making progress - how do I keep going?

This is where the title of this post comes into play - keep good records!

Remember those growth charts growing up where mom or grandma would mark on the wall or the chart how much you'd grown throughout the year.  In the course of a week or a month you wouldn't see much change, if at all - but at a year mark or two years - Whoa! You would suddenly see just how much happened that was so gradual and naturally expanding you didn't notice at the time...

When pursuing a goal make a list every day or once a week of the steps you took that kept you moving in the right direction.  Also record any "wins" anything that showed you that you were on the right track - from a sign, to a positive event etc.

All of these things are so small sometimes when you first experience them that it becomes easy to put them to the back of your mind and not give them credit.  However if you keep track of things, when you look back in a month, six months, or a year - you easily see how you are progressing and can make any changes (or not!) accordingly.

KEEP GOOD RECORDS if you truly want to reach your loftier goals... and recognize the importance of allowing things to happen according to "the law of divine timing"... Remember impatience is a roadblock and does nothing to make your seeds grow faster.  Drive forward anyway, knowing the road is there to greet you.

Why Creative Expression is SO important

Many people tend to look at themselves and say "I'm not creative" or "I'm not artistic".  The truth is however, we are ALL creative by nature - we are living, breathing examples of the creative process itself, and nothing can get you centered and help relieve stress like doing something creative just for the fun of doing it.  Pick up a craft, a pencil, write something, draw, build - all of these activities are wonderful for helping us return to center.

Those who regularly engage in activities they find enjoyable - find life more enjoyable as a whole.  By your very nature, you are designed to express your individualism, even though the media pushes on us all the stuff we are supposed to need/want to feel whole.  Deep down, most people really long to just be themselves and don't know how.

Take some time today, and every day, to do something that is purely for your enjoyment that you have a hand in creating yourself.  You'll enjoy the process and all the benefits that come with it guaranteed.

Don't have a creative hobby? Not to worry.  Go to a hobby shop, look up a tutorial online, or just try your hand at something without formal training and see how it goes.  Sometimes just the act of doing something new will inspire you to come up with new ideas.

Reflections on Thanksgiving & a Visualization Exercise/Tool

Well another Thanksgiving has come and gone and I always enjoy the meal, the company of family, playing games, and all that the holiday entails.  The "vibes" on this holiday are always great - we take time to consciously focus on the things we are thankful for while taking a day to simply enjoy good times, good food, good wine, whatever... :)

The best way to approach "thanksgiving" however is every day - not on some appointed 4th Thursday in November.  That doesn't mean we should overindulge, stuff ourselves silly etc... but more that we should stop and pause everyday and offer thanks to the universe for the blessings we have.

Everyone, even those facing dark times or difficult challenges, can find something to be thankful for.  Even if it takes every ounce of strength you have to muster up that sense of thanksgiving - the simple "attitude of gratitude" is one of the fastest ways to raise your vibration.  Higher vibrational energies on a consistent basis lead to more joy, opportunity, and peace of mind overall.

A little mindtrick to help you with mindfulness :)

When I focus on something I truly love, that truly makes me feel blessed and abundant, in my minds eye I draw a heart around that object and say "I heart you"... and as I did it the first few times I really focused on how deeply I loved the person/place/experience/ etc. I really let it sink in to every fiber of my heart and soul to the point I could feel my vibration raise.

Now when I see something I love - a beautiful scene on my long drive (the long drive I don't enjoy every day lol) I draw a heart around it in my minds eye and that feeling starts to come back - and once it starts you can really pull yourself almost instantly into a "higher" frame of mind.

Try it - draw a heart around your loved one, your child, your pet and focus on how intensely you love them, the last thing they did that gave you joy, made you smile etc.  really spend some time and feel it as powerfully as you can - and then start to draw your hearts around everything that makes you feel good - in time you'll see just how amazing this little exercise can be.

Better Use Law of Attraction with These 3 Quick Tips

Ok, I wanted to keep today's post short and sweet and focus on a few things I've heard over and over, common themes that seem to keep people kind of struggling with manifesting.

Before I get into these quick tips it's important to remember that learning to work with law of attraction (and the other universal laws) is a process.  It is something that takes time and dedication - just like it does when you say start eating properly to regain your health.  They say "diets don't work" and the reason that is, is because diets are a fad, something temporary you do for awhile and then when you reach a goal you go right back to your old ways.  A "lifestyle change" is what is embraced by people who lose weight and get healthy and keep it up long term.

The same premise applies to Law of Attraction - there isn't just some quick things you can do for awhile and then revert back to your old habits and expect it to keep working for you.  You have to change the way you think and act and you have to do it for life.  There I said it - it requires a big commitment, but in the end it is SO worth the effort you put in.

Now for those 3 quick tips

When you visualize or focus on what you want to attract - focus on what you truly want to attract.

I'll use the example of money here again because it's a big huge stumbling block for so many people.  You don't want money - what you want and what you should be focusing on are the things that you feel money can provide you - security, freedom, choice, abundance etc.  Focus on those energies, align yourself with those higher vibrations and you will allow money to flow to you.

Once you've decided what you want to focus on - ask yourself how do you truly feel about it?

Are you passionate enough about this desire to truly change your behaviors and attitudes long term? Can you really pour all your heart and soul into this goal? If not, chances are you may need to tweak your goals a bit.  If you can't see making lifestyle changes to accommodate reaching the goal chances are you don't want it enough.  Many people say they want to quit smoking or want to lose weight - but they don't make the choices and changes necessary to do so.  Are you being honest - is the passion truly there to take some risks and put yourself out there and really make an effort?

Finally, and this one kind of ties in with the one above the law of inspired action applies.
When you want something you must take action on your ideas and do so without wasting time.

You can't wish for something and expect it to fall into your lap.  You must visualize, tweak the plan, get passionate and then act as though you already have what you want to have - act as though you are already what you want to be.  Then take actions to get yourself there.  One way to do this is to push yourself in new directions, try new things.

You want a million dollars you say? Ok prove it.  Sit down and brainstorm business ideas or product ideas.  Tap into your inner inventor or businessman/woman.  Formulate your ideas and take steps every day to tighten your focus.

Universal laws are all about trust in your higher self, the universe, and directing your energies in ways that facilitate that faith.  Fear is the absence of faith and fear is the robber of dreams.

Don't Just Face Your Fears - Embrace Them!

How many times in life have you been told you have to face your fears in order to grow?  - This is very true, but today I'm going to tell you what is possible by taking it even further.  Want to really reach your fullest potential and see what you are made of? Let fear be your friend rather than your enemy and you'll find the universal laws flow with ease.

After all, it's been stated repeatedly that fears block the flow of abundance and this is true.  Why? because we feed so much energy into fear and our fears are always directed at what we don't want.  So while it is important to redirect your energy to what you DO want - it is also important to accept fear is a natural part of life and embrace it rather than try to avoid it or fight it.  Fears can be a catalyst in the right direction when you know how to use them.

An example: I am petrified of public speaking - have been since I was a kid.  I am introverted by nature, friendly, but quiet and the idea of having all these eyes on me and fearing that I'll mess up  or look stupid or say something wrong etc. brings out the worst in my insecurities.  The thought of it makes my heart race, makes my mouth dry, makes we want to run home and crawl under the covers and bury my head...

So, last month I signed up for a Public Speaking class - whoa! I must be crazy right? or a glutton for punishment perhaps? No - not at all.  I know that by facing this fear I will prove to myself that I can indeed do this.  I will not die of embarrassment, I will not be less of a person if I stumble, and in the end I will have learned some valuable skills to improve not only how I speak - but most importantly how I LISTEN.  So in this one step, a rather agonizing step, I am empowering myself and in that process I get to see just what I am made of.

So far I have actually enjoyed the class.  Have I been nervous - no, more like a nervous wreck ;) - but I have played it as cool as I can and I learned that a lot of these people in my class who look so confident and self-assured also share a common trait with me - they are nervous wrecks too! We all are to some degree, granted some more than others, but it's quite normal and natural :)

How do I feel this experience will tie into the Universal Law of Attraction?  For many years I have felt too shy, to tongue tied to meet with people face to face about publishing my manuscripts or perhaps even eventually teaching others or doing seminars.  These are things I always thought would be fun, but never thought I would be cut out to do.  Now I am seeing that by pushing myself and focusing on my strengths and not shrinking back I am growing into more of my potential and the ultimate result will be that the universe continues to provide me the tools I need to continue growing and reaching out to others.  I told the universe 10 years ago, I want to use my talents to help others help themselves.  Since that time the universe has opened many doors for me.  I have taught myself web design, worked to improve my writing, finally went back to school for graphic arts and communications and I have opened myself up fully to my "mission".  I didn't know the "how" just what I wanted to do - and the universe has led me and pushed me to do all sorts of things aligned with that goal.

We all have our challenges, we each have our shortcomings.  Someone is always going to be better than you at anything you try.  You can let that defeat you (and many people do) or you can accept it and make a promise to yourself and to your creator to do the best you are capable of and to recognize and honor your own strengths.  When we shrink back the world loses.  Each of us has something unique and wonderful we can offer.  When you push yourself to reach new heights, your actions inspire others to do the same.

I will never be the worlds greatest speech giver - in fact I'll never even probably be a very good speech giver ;) - BUT I can always say I showed great strength in facing a fear and that I am a better speech giver because of it - after all you can't be something if you don't give it a shot.  In the process, my fears have shrunk (not gone away but become manageable) I have gained valuable new experience and skills, and I feel fantastic about the accomplishments.

How about you?  What fears have you embraced - or what fears would you like to conquer? and how? Please share - we learn through the experiences of others!

Using Universal Laws to Ease Pain and Sickness

This time of year it seems all the kiddos and co-workers are in the spirit of sharing - viruses and germs that is ;).  I am an advocate of course of the body being a temple and working to give your body what it needs to resist and overcome disease naturally.  Our immune systems are fantastic things!  Of course in a busy daily life it isn't always practical to eat 100% properly, exercise regularly and be stress free etc.  The fact is even if you are superman/woman and can do all those things consistently - eventually you're still probably going to get sick with something.  It's a part of life and sometimes I think the universes way of enforced rest and recovery.

Eventually, we all get sick and face illness in life.  One of my pet peeves with LOA is that it tends to sound like it is blaming us when our bodies become ill.  That isn't necessarily the case, although most of us, if we are honest could treat our bodies better on a daily basis, the fact is at some point we all face "dis-ease".

It's how we handle illness that determines how much we suffer however.  The mind/body connection is an amazing thing and we all know that what we think about manifests.  If you are ill and you focus on how much it hurts, or how uncomfortable you are or how bad you feel etc. - you will manifest more of that energy.

The best approach, as with anything, is to focus on what you DO want - healing.  I use meditations and visualization regularly when I am under the weather and it always helps me to recover in shorter times than those I know who tend to focus on "being sick".  I visualize my immune system doing it's thing and I thank it for working so beautifully.  I bless whatever I can about the experience - from the extra down time, to an opportunity to honor and respect the parts of my life I take for granted everyday.  A hot shower never feels as good as it does when you are sore from the flu for instance ;)

I believe that when we use the mind/body connection we enable healing to manifest faster and easier.  Higher vibrational energies are very conducive for healing.  So this year when you face the possibility of the latest cold or whatever, embrace it for how it benefits you and focus on healing - not illness.

Effort vs Struggle - The Right Way to Manifest

Ok, so we all know the first step in law of attraction is knowing what you want - getting clear on that goal and then really pouring your passion into your desire.   With passion and dedication come the next universal law - inspired action.

Here is where a lot of people also get hung up because they mistake "struggle" and trying to be in control - as inspired action or hard work.   If you are struggling - if you are in the mindset that I have to push hard, compete, wear myself out to pursue a goal - you are approaching your goals from a fear mindset which will sabotage you.  99% of the time if you feel you have to constantly work at something to do it well enough or to be able to be "good enough" to manifest something - it is because subconsciously you are holding onto a belief system that says - I have to try harder than others because on some level I don't measure up.  Your job is not to prove yourself through struggle like many of us have been taught.

The need to feel in control also stems from a lack of faith.  Remember - universal law is all about the "what" not the "how" - the other universal laws step in to determine the "how" - divine providence, masculine and feminine (when you plant a seed it takes time and nurturing to grow and reach its potential)

When you are doing the right kind of hard work - it should feel like effort but not struggle or pushing beyond your limits.  If your goals are causing stress and anxiety - you are engaging in "struggle" rather than inspired action and need to revisit your goals and see how you can relax into the process more and enjoy it.  Often all that is needed is some simple adjustments in your thinking/emotional process to get back on target.

It really is OK to be selfish!

How many times have you heard growing up that you shouldn't be selfish.  Focusing on yourself is a negative thing to be avoided.  Women especially are always taught to put everyone above ourselves at all times even more so than men.  Not saying that men are not taught this ;) but as a whole they are also encouraged to be more self-reliant and competitive etc.

So today I am going to cover a controversial subject - "Selfishness" and show you how being selfish is in fact the greatest gift you can give not only to yourself, but to everyone around you!

What? I can hear you ask... How can being selfish possibly help me be a better parent, spouse, worker, etc.

Great question - I'll explain.

When we deny ourselves we also deny others.  Why? The answer is simple you cannot effectively give to others what you do not already possess within yourself.  If you spend all your time putting your needs on the back burner so that you can serve others at your own expense you do no one any favors.

Remember, everyday when you look in that mirror, your only one true soulmate, the best friend you can possibly ever have who will always be there with you through everything, is the one looking back at you.  No one will ever or can ever fulfill you but you.

I remember a line in the famous movie "Jerry Maguire" that everyone thought was so sweet and it made me cringe a little.  "You complete me".  No other person can make you whole unless you already feel fulfilled yourself.  It's a nice idea, but it is simply not true.  When we rely on others to "make us happy" etc. we will always fall short, because the only soul on the face of this earth who knows what you truly want and need is you.  There is only one of you and you require no other person to be complete because the "all" already resides within you.  You are already a complete being - you just need to recognize and embrace it.  Others can complement you, can enhance you, but they cannot every "complete" you because you are NOT broken or incomplete to begin with.

We tend to get lost in others.  We don't take the time for ourselves to discover what our true desires are and we turn to others - selfishly ( in the wrong sense I might add), to provide us a sense of self-worth or value.

Suddenly our children, spouses, friends etc. are burdened with the weight of being what "makes us happy".  This is an unfair burden and it is stifling to everyone concerned.  How do you feel when someone says that you don't make them happy? Chances are you feel defensive and that it's unfair.

When I take time to figure out who I am, I become strong and self-assured.  This allows me to teach my children independence, self-confidence, and it also gives others around me permission to be who they truly are without filters.  Because I am already fulfilled, others actions cannot cause me to lose my sense of worth.

Selfishness is the key to deeper, truer love and it is the best way to give all you have to others.  When you are fulfilled and joyful that energy radiates from you, it manifests in an abundance that you can then share with those around you.  Selfishness is about giving - not taking as we are taught..

Selfishness (in the correct context) leads people to seek the higher in themselves, to be truly fulfilled and at peace in their lives.  They no longer feel anger towards others for not meeting their expectations, because they can do that for themselves.  Strong, independent "selfish" people draw to them other strong people who are their equals.  They lead by example and encourage strength and independence in others.

I believe that the reason our divorce rates are so high is because we are not selfish enough(in the right way) and are too selfish in the wrong context - we focus too much on others for a sense of self-worth and ultimately it fails, leaving us angry and empty.  We neglect our health(mental, spiritual) in our desire to be "selfless",  but those who know no self actually burden those around them.  When you get into a relationship or in a group of others who also are not "selfish" enough they in turn put the burden of their happiness and sense of self-worth unfairly on you.

Many teachers have taught us this in the past - "Be the change you want to see in the world" is one of my favorite quotes.  In other words, don't focus on what the other guy is doing wrong that offends you, work instead on focusing on your self - fixing you, so that you can lead by example... "Be selfish!"

In short there are two kinds of selfish - the wrong kind - that puts the burden of your joy, success, sense of worth on others unfairly and the right kind - the kind that is self-focused and positive allowing you to be independent but still compassionate and loving.

Dealing With Doubts & Other Sabotagers

Today's post is in response to a very good question I received and it is something we all have to deal with - doubt (lack of faith in ourselves and our higher power) and other things that seem to sabotage our efforts and our best intentions.

Here is a part of what she said "...  When I try to stay positive and assure myself that things will go along my plan, I get sense of doubt and anxiety. I feel like that that is the main reason why I have not seen the result of LOA.  Can you give me an advice on how I can get rid of the anxiety and the self doubt so that my plan can manifest?"

I think that often we get caught up in the idea of "manifesting" which gives the sense of great efforts and strain - really trying.  If you are working hard at manifesting your mind says well all this hard work should be paying off now now now! When what we expect to see doesn't happen in the time we felt it should, we give in to doubt, anxiety, fear we can't make it etc.

The most important concept in using the universal laws is to "Allow" rather than "force" something to happen.  We do have to take inspired action and make effort, but we also have to trust in ourselves and our higher power enough to allow things to manifest according to divine providence.  When we look at all of the 12 universal laws and how they tie into one another, we see that it is about much more than focusing and manifesting.

Universal laws are about faith building as well.  It requires us to always rededicate ourselves to our vision.  There is no one among us who doesn't sometimes face doubt and uncertainty.  That feeling is a blessing because it is a gauge that says you need to stop and realign your energy.  Remember that your ideals will manifest for you in the time that is for your highest good.

How to combat fears and doubts

When you find things are moving slowly or you feel you are not making progress take some time to record in a journal every day the little victories and wins in life.  This provides evidence that you can look back on in the future when you are facing doubt again.

Record everything that shows you that the laws are working in your life.  Anything from being in the right place at the right time, to having someone give you unsolicited advise or praise etc. There are signs everywhere when you get accustomed to looking for them.

Also, engage in activities that raise your vibration.  Meditate, do something creative or artistic, whatever helps you rise above the "heaviness" of fear, anxiety etc.  I also highly recommend a practice called "Emotional Freedom Technique" to deal with anxiety.  There are links on the sidebar on the main page of this blog that will teach you about this very simple technique for free.

Often when things are not manifesting as we had hoped it can be because we are blocking the very thing we want.  Usually it is because you have a hidden fear in place.  For example most people focus on "Money".  They want more money to have more freedom, less stress etc.  What also may accompany this desire though are fears as well.  Will I lose the money? Will my friends treat me differently? Will people try to take advantage of me? Will it really solve my problems? Look to the underlying fears and address those as well.   Often our fears block our progress and it is usually not the reasonable fears that stand in our way, but the irrational ones that we don't even realize we are engaging in.

When you take the steps to acknowledge and release the fears to the universe, you open yourself up to the ability to "allow" things to manifest for you.

Remember to also be focused on what you TRULY want.  Most people don't want piles of paper bills - they want the things that money can provide to them - more security, more stability etc.  Focus instead on manifesting those things.  Focus on the "what" not the "how".  Allow the universe to bring to you the means to achieve security, stability etc. and focus on what you can do to help yourself feel more secure, free, stable, etc in the meantime.  When you do that - the means to maintain those feelings will follow.  When you get too caught up in the "what" you miss the boat.

Time Management & Law of Attraction

Many of us lead very busy daily lives and in the process of trying to accomplish so much stuff - we kind of lose sight of our personal goals or taking time to focus on our spiritual health/well being.  Time management was one area where a few people requested we spend some time so today's post is devoted to a subject I also struggle with at times.

Time Management - What is Truly Important?

Many of us feel compelled to "multi-task" - to take on many things at once and juggle them all successfully.  Multi-tasking can be a great characteristic in moderation, but often what happens is our energies become scattered.  We are unable to stop long enough to prioritize or plan effectively and we just go, go, go... The challenge here however is that more actually gets accomplished when we prioritize, plan, and focus on one thing at a time.  We delude ourselves into thinking that the more we are doing at once the better.  Multi-tasking is not typically the most efficient way to work.

Think about it.  Lets say the dishes are dirty, you have to make an appointment at the doctor, work is calling, your child needs help with homework and your friend needs a shoulder.  Suddenly you have all of these things vying for your attention and you feel pressured to do them all.

Unfortunately, when you try to do everything at once, nothing is done fully and completely.  In this instance, you have to make a schedule and you have to establish priorities.  This means that you may have to "let go" and allow others to help.  Let your spouse or an older sibling do the dishes, tell your friend you'd be happy to discuss her struggles over lunch the next day.  Work issues should never come home and should be handled at work when possible.  Unless it's a matter of life or death (and 99.9% of the time it isn't) then it can wait until your next shift.

Now you have stepped back, taken a breath and know what is getting handled, by whom and in what order.  This allows you to relax a bit and truly focus your attention on the present task at hand without the anxiety and distraction of everything else.

When you truly focus on what you are doing now you will find it flows more smoothly, you are able to do a better job, and in the end you will actually be able to handle more demands more efficiently.

Don't Make Time the Enemy

Feeling rushed and hurried creates anxiety and tension which lower your vibrational energy.  This wreaks havoc on the body/mind/spirit and makes it harder to focus and direct your energy in positive ways.  When you feel pressured those feelings "weigh on you" quite literally!  Pressure and rushing tends to lead to agitation (think road rage), making mistakes (now you have to fix it too), and stress/worry over handling everything.  This lowers your vibration, causes illness, and takes away your ability to truly control/direct your thoughts/energy.  To use law of attraction effectively you have to step back, take a breath, visualize yourself accomplishing everything with ease and then take steps to prioritize.

Learning to let go is one of the most important aspects of time management.  You do not have to be superman/woman.

Take time to breathe.  Practice a few minutes of silent meditation every day.  Lack of time is not an excuse to neglect your needs, because when you do this, you actually end up sabotaging yourself.  A strong person who is focused and centered is always better able to manage their time and accomplish more goals.

The Universe Within You - The Law of Divine Oneness Beautifully Illustrated

Often we feel so small in life and it is that sense of smallness and separation that keep us held back.  It is difficult to manifest our large dreams when our thoughts are small.

Yesterday I wrote a hub called "You - Yes You! are Beauty and Greatness Beyond Comprehension.

It beautifully illustrates how you are a walking, breathing universe in your own right.

You have within every cell of your being the keys to life itself - and within your body are 75 trillion - yes trillion cells - that is far more than the number of stars in the Milky Way galaxy!

Every cell of your body is a working universe in its own right with millions of working parts that all work separately yet are part of a whole. There are millions of atoms in a single cell.  If even one part is out of place the cell cannot function properly.

Every cell of your body also functions within a group dependent upon it's type - heart, lungs, skin, brain, etc. and each of your individual parts have billions of cells that operate them.

You are made to perfection - the beauty, power and divine intelligence or universal mind is at work in every tiny fiber of your being and you have within you a universe more vast than the one you live in! We are all connected and we are all one.

The population of Earth as of 2011 is roughly 6.9 Billion - The Earth itself has less inhabitants than ONE of your cells has working parts.

We are a living, breathing working part of Life itself - within you are the keys to existence - it is not distant from you it is present in every cell of your body and your body is massive beyond comprehension and yet you can't even see the individual parts - but they work together splendidly giving you the ability to breathe, see, hear, bear children, run, walk, feel, think etc.

Read my latest hub and learn more about the Universe within you - the perfect illustration of the "Law of Divine Oneness"  You are more powerful than you think you are - you are already made to perfection - a living work of art - an expression of the one Source.

Universal Laws for Self-Esteem

Many of us are plagued by self-esteem issues at various times in life.  No one is 100% confident and self-assured and we all have things that make us more self-conscious.  The key to true self-esteem is not becoming "perfect" - because no such thing exists, nor is it just giving up and giving in - because that means you are accepting mediocrity instead of actually living up to your fullest potential.

My art teacher told us one day that if someone says you have potential it's the kiss of death.  Why? Because potential implies that your greatness is not in action - it's somewhere in the future, a distant possibility.  Without actions - potential means squat.  So many people have untapped potential - something inside of them that is wonderful and interesting that the world would benefit from seeing.  Each person has this seed of potential, but, let's be honest, in most people it is dormant or not used to it's full capacity.

Have you ever noticed how there are millions of books, magazines, and other products on self-esteem and something most of them have in common is that they require action on the part of the reader.  Self-confidence is not going to fall into your lap.  Sustained confidence is a practice - like exercise it requires consistent effort and the reward is entirely dependent on what you put into it.  Like muscle, you have to build and maintain self-esteem.  The beauty is that once it's established it is easier to maintain that to build from the ground up.

This "inspired action" is one of the 12 universal laws.  Many books suggests affirmations - which are great as one aspect of building your self-confidence, but repeating a bunch of mantras in your head that you do not believe will actually have an opposite effect (see the previous post on how affirmations may be sabotaging you) What you must do is take positive, constructive action to build your confidence.

Do you feel your best after you've completed a project or reached a goal? Most of us do by design.
Set goals for yourself - even small ones and check them off as you accomplish them.  Don't set all goals to be something very distant or difficult, because you will give up without giving it your all.

For example if your ultimate goal is to run your first 5k - set small goals that lead up to the big goal - and keep a visual record of what you have accomplished.  Start by running for 2 minutes and then 5 and then a half mile and then a mile and so on.  This process allows you to see growth at a glance and the result? more confidence, more self-esteem - because you realize you are capable of pushing yourself and reaching great things. You are persistently and consistently reaching goals that will keep you on the path - instead of seeing only one goal that right out of the gate is going to be impossible for someone with no previous experience.

Our desire for instant gratification in today's modern world often sabotages self-esteem.  We figure if we can't pick something up and do it well immediately that either we suck or aren't talented enough etc.  The truth is all skills take time - there are never ANY EXPERTS ever at anything.  To say someone is an "expert" is to imply that there is nothing more to learn in that field/practice.  If you become an "expert" you stop growing.

Embrace the fact that you don't have to be "perfect" to be valuable.  Perfect is what is - you are already perfect at being who you are - so grow where you are planted and stop waiting for the self-esteem to find you because it doesn't happen that way.  Go after it, build it by building yourself up - and then maintain it by visually looking back at all you have achieved.

When Your Body/Mind/Spirit Need a Lift - Use Music

Music is powerful and moving.  Throughout my life I have appreciated music in many of its forms.  Just like art, one can never soak in enough music - especially music that lifts our spirits (and therefore our vibrations) just by surrounding ourselves with it.

When you are feeling blue, a nice piece of music can instantly move you.  Music can make us smile, cry, feel angry, motivated, etc.  Music throughout history and in all cultures has been a beautiful form of human expression - a universal language so to speak.  It guides our imaginations and lets us explore our dreams and fantasies, which is the first step of the process of creating our own reality.

The right music can raise our vibrations and we all know that the key to manifesting abundance in its many forms lies in raising our vibrations to line up with what we truly want to experience.

When I need a lift at times or I need some creative inspiration I find that the right piece of music is the fastest way to gain insight and inspiration.  For that reason I have come to love music that is geared specifically for those purposes - I listen to a lot of "Hemi-Sync" music which actually works to target different brain waves for different purposes.  There are some developed for increased learning and concentration, others for deeper relaxation, creativity, you name it.

Whatever your place in life - there is music that can help soothe and encourage, motivate and inspire.  Life is a wonderful gift that allows us to enjoy the beauty of so many things and that leads us to beautiful forms of expression:  art, writing, music.  All of these things are a way to tap into the creative soul of the universe and to connect with the experiences of the individuals who create the works we resonate with.

I have a wonderful friend named AJ, who is so kind.  He knows I've been having some stress lately adjusting to my new schedule so first thing this morning he messaged me and asked me how he could help me.  That simple offer was enough to brighten my day and I am very thankful for the friends who I love.

My dear friend and kindred spirit is also an extremely talented composer and musician.   His work is filled with light and love and it absolutely radiates through his music.  He is a very enlightened soul with a great talent and I hope you will enjoy some of his work which he so graciously allows others to listen to for free via his website.  If you enjoy it and it moves you (and it will) be sure to share it with others.   You can definitely feel the light in his work so I encourage you to enjoy it.

Have a great weekend!

Why Positive Affirmations Don't Work

Many products that push Law of Attraction speak of the need to use "positive affirmations" along with visualizations in order to manifest what you desire.  This is partially correct, however there are times when using positive affirmations, despite your best intentions, may sabotage you.

For example Law of Attraction states that we should focus on having what we want in the present moment and act as if we are already what we want to be.  So for the example of weight loss for instance - technically a strong positive affirmation would be something along the lines of "I have a slender, healthy body that I love".

It sounds great doesn't it? So why is it the exact WRONG thing to do?

If you put an affirmation like this on your mirror and you repeat it - but you don't believe it, or your mind contradicts it, or it simply isn't true, this actually sends out negative vibrations because your doubt is stronger than your faith in the affirmation.  If I look at my body and I am overweight and I am out of shape - telling myself " I have a slender healthy body" is a lie - it is untrue and as I state the affirmation, the part of me that recognizes that is not a true statement counters this "positive" affirmation with the same false, limiting mindset and reinforces THAT instead of increasing the vibration.

Ok - so what do I do? I hear you ask ;)

Instead of writing positive affirmations about yourself - make them third person.  For example "Many people my age have lost weight successfully" or "It is possible to lose weight"... you know this is a true statement because people do this all the time.  Reinforcing true statements helps you whittle down doubts and anxieties that actually block your progress.

When focusing on more personal affirmations - work them into something doable and believable.  "I am thankful for my body because it does wonderful things for me every day"  or "Right now I am doing healthy things for my body" or "I am growing stronger and healthier every day".  These are all "resistance free" examples of affirmations.

To work effectively you must use "resistance free affirmations" combined with visualization and inspired action.

Overcoming obstacles on your path to liberation and growth requires you to use the law of attraction and other universal laws in ways that eliminate resistance in order to be effective.

Law of Attraction for Learning - Improve your Grades

Now that I am back in class again I thought it would be a good time to share some techniques I have used to help me master harder classes I have been in.  A lot of times when a subject doesn't come easy to us, the first response is to panic, to fear we'll fail or fall short of our expectations, and those worries can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

When faced with classes and subjects that rattle my confidence I spend some time doing some confidence building and positive manifesting exercises.  These can be modified and used really for any goal or purpose where you want to succeed or do more than you thought you could.

The first step is to get clear on exactly what you expect from yourself and why.  If you are wanting an A because you feel that you need that grade or that judgment from someone else in order to feel worthwhile - you are wanting that grade for the wrong reasons, and it will elude you.

The correct focus should not be on the "letter grade" but on being successful overall.  For me, a B in math or advanced programming is like an A++++ lol.  I have to restructure my mindset and know and ACCEPT that if I do my absolute best - whatever grade comes from it is not a measure of "my worth" but a reflection of the effort I gave to my subject.

Those of us who are perfectionists are often that way to our own detriment - getting good grades becomes self-destructive because we are too focused on "proving our worth" to please others - rather than simply accepting ourselves as doing well enough or being enough despite the letter grade.

Does that mean you shouldn't go for the A? not at all - but it means you SHOULD examine why you want that A - is it for the right reason or the wrong ones? We should all strive to do our best in a way that is still joyful! If you get an A but you spend months in misery trying to accomplish it - the reward is just not as sweet.  I'd rather stress less and get a B - than pull my hair out for an A.

The next step is to visualize - see yourself understanding the subject matter.  Envision yourself succeeding at this course and feel the feelings that being successful give you.  Hold this in your mind several minutes each day and truly get into the visualization with feeling and passion.

Every time you get something right or you catch on to a concept that was tricky before - Thank your mind for allowing you to comprehend that subject.  Thank the universe for inspiring that knowledge.  Give yourself proper credit for the achievements rather than focusing on "well I have to keep going".. stop for a minute and say "I accomplished something and it feels amazing".. That positive energy will help you manifest more goals than berating or bullying yourself.

Remember that you are ONE with the universal mind/wisdom.  This is the power and energy that is within all things and allows you to open up to all things.  There is nothing you can't understand if you don't barricade your ability to grasp it with fears/anxiety.  We can ALL learn.  Embrace learning as a natural extension of yourself - just like breathing and motion.

Other Techniques I use...

I also use hemi-sync recordings that are designed for enhancing learning.  They work by triggering parts of the brain that allow you to think more efficiently and creatively.  I've found that when I am doing  a task that requires a lot of brain power listening to these types of music/recordings really do give me a boost.

Remember also that your brain needs regular exercise to function effectively and efficiently, just like the body does.  Exercise your brain regularly with puzzles and games designed for that purpose.  It does help.  I do logic problems and brain training exercises a few times a week and it benefits me greatly.

Exercise your body!  A healthy body means more energy and less stress which equate to more stamina and endurance and a clearer, sharper mind.  Eat right and exercise! If you feed your body garbage, do not drink water, and don't move - you can't very well get upset that your brain is not functioning at peak capacity ;).  Many college students get caught in the junk food/fast food trap due to time constraints etc.  Trust me take time to nourish/exercise your body properly and you will have more time, because you will become more efficient.

In short, take inspired action to give your body/mind what it needs to facilitate learning and then get out of your own way.  :)

Can I Use Universal Laws to Make Someone Love Me?

The short answer to this question is No.  We cannot use the law of attraction to change another persons free will and aren't you glad we can't? You wouldn't want someone to have the power to influence your decisions either.

Each of us creates our own realities and we will love who we love.

Can you use universal laws to help in the search for your ideal love? Absolutely yes!

There are techniques to do this and the key is to not focus on a specific person - but rather to focus on getting clear on exactly what you want.  When many of us think of love we get attached to a person and then project our ideals onto that person before truly getting to know them authentically.  Think back to a time you had a crush on someone and then when you actually dated that person they disappointed you.  The reason is you tried to attach an idea to a person - rather than put a clear picture of what you wanted out to the Universe and allow the correct person to come to you.

How to Attract Your Perfect Mate

Write him/her down on paper and go into great detail about the traits you want in your ideal person.  Envision this persons conversational style and what you would talk about.  This gives a big clue into what you expect in a partner.

Find images that represent the important values you want your partner to have.  You can focus on "deal breakers" too - but only long enough to determine what you don't want so that you can return your focus to what you do want.

Once you have identified the right type of person for you - let go and allow the process to blossom.  Don't put pressure on it by attaching to people immediately.  Make yourself available to meet others of like interests (take a class or join a social club - try online dating if you like) Get to know people slowly and see how they measure up.

In the meantime focus on YOU - when you love you, others can love you and not before that.  If you don't love yourself - and I mean really, truly love yourself you cannot find the truly right partner for you.  When we cultivate love from within - we overflow with an abundance of positive energy that in turn magnetizes us to others who have similar vibrations.

If you are focused on being "lonely" and wanting someone to "fulfill" a need - you will always feel that need no matter who is around.  That loneliness stems from an inner soul desire that needs to be filled by you first - so that you can enter a strong partnership that will last later.

Law of Attraction for Weight Loss

Can I use the law of attraction to help with my weight loss goals?

Yes.  and I will use this post to explain how this can happen.  Does this mean you can simply visualize being thin and do nothing else? no.

Weight loss tends to come with "weightier" issues to deal with - forgive the pun.  Typically when we are dealing with issues of weight there are underlying fears and beliefs we have in place that sabotage us from the very beginning.

Step One - Using Law of Attraction to Shift Your Focus

First big challenge - overcoming negative body image and hostility towards our bodies.  How often do you look at or think about your body and have negative thoughts? Do you continually chastise yourself and your body for how you look? Do you stop ever to say "thank you" to your body for the amazing job it does of keeping you alive? Our bodies are amazing machinery - every cell of your body is like a factory with working parts that interconnect and work together.  These millions of cells form the various tissues and organs of your body that work together in harmony.  Every day your body goes through countless functions to give you the simple ability to move, breathe, see, etc.

When you really stop to think about how miraculous your body is - and all the hard work it does for you, it is easier to get in the right mindset.  Now instead of yelling at your body - you are raising your vibration to gratitude and that is the first necessary step.

When you continually chastise yourself or get down on your body for being heavy, or tired, or achy etc. you surround yourself in that lower vibrational energy - a heaviness that is both energetic and literal.

Step Two - Why are you overweight?

This requires honesty and acceptance without shame or guilt.  You have to look at the situation and be very candid with yourself.  Do you eat food that you are addicted to? (sugar, refined carbs, etc) Do you eat because you are bored? stressed? Are you eating the right foods for your body? Are you taking the time to respect your body by giving it enough water and nutrients every day? If you are carrying too much weight you must accept and acknowledge that you are doing things in error and that you need to make changes.

Do this from a place of love and respect for yourself.  No one is perfect and you shouldn't hold yourself up to unrealistic standards.  Your goal should be focused from a higher vibrational place of abundance, healing, and love of self.

If you approach weight loss from a place of having to "fix something broken" rather than improve what is already wonderful - chances are you will not be successful long term.

Step Three - Taking Inspired Action

Now it's time to take inspired action.  Find activities you enjoy and be more active.  Move your body and love and respect it for the great job it's doing.  As you drink more water and move your body - focus on how grateful you are for improving your health and tell your body you are so pleased and grateful to be working with it.

Our minds/bodies/spirit are deeply interconnected - engage in activities that are focused on whole being wellness.  Listen to guided meditations or hemi-sync music while you walk, do yoga and learn to be fully "in the now", Dance at a zumba class and have fun and celebrate life.  As your physical health improves and you accept your body as perfect for you - your body will release pounds easier and you will have the motivation to continue on your healthy journey and overcome things like emotional eating and food cravings/addictions.

when your mind is in the right place - your body will want to follow.

Other Tips:

When using visualization be realistic - we are all not able to be a size 2 - love your natural shape and visualize yourself at your true ideal - not what you "think" a "perfect' you should look like etc.  Remember to be effective - visualizations must be believable.

Love the skin you're in - pamper yourself! Take care of your skin, dress nicely, work on your posture, wear a little makeup - anything that demonstrates to you and others that you truly value yourself

Empower - don't deprive!  Do not deprive or deny yourself.  If you need to cut carbs rather than focus on "I can't have sugar" .. focus on other ways to enjoy a sweet treat - a piece of fresh fruit or a frozen smoothie.  Indulge yourself in healthier ways and never approach a lifestyle change as a "diet" - because it won't last.

Embrace a lifestyle that is healthy body/mind/spirit and make it something that can last a lifetime.

Get more movement every day even if you don't work out at the gym etc.  Here are 101simple ways to be more active that are actually quite useful and easy to incorporate.

How Long Does it Take to Manifest Goals using Law of Attraction?

This is a very common question and the response is always the same - it depends.  There are several steps required when preparing to manifest a goal.

First of all are you focused on what you truly want - not merely what you think you want or need.  Everyone "thinks" they want to win the lottery - I mean who wouldn't?  It's not like any of us are going to turn that down right? lol.

What you really want though is what you feel that money would provide you - so your focus should be directed towards those things - not the "how" but the "what".  In this example the "what" would be the deeper answers of security, freedom, independence, ability to give to others, prosperity, etc.

So the first step is to identify the TRUE goals - remember it's not the "how" but the "what"... so make a list of genuine goals you want for yourself.  If you have always dreamed of owning your own business, start to focus on what you would want to do every day that would make you happy.

Would you be an artist, a counselor, sell your own product or service?  Envision yourself getting up to go to your dream "job".. do you actually own the business and do everything yourself? What part of the business/job do you see yourself doing with joy? That's what you need to focus on intently - not a generalization.

Overly general ideas are vague - they do not help you target your energy effectively.  You must determine what you truly want - the true underlying thing and target your energy concisely.  When you know this then you can start to focus on having it,  which will encourage inspired actions.  When we are clear on what we want, the universe has a way of giving us hints/ideas intuitively as to  how to get there. Signposts that direct us to take certain actions if we choose to listen.  The universe likes to be as expedient and efficient as possible.  If you are not manifesting goals in a reasonable amount of time, chances are you are either not focusing your energy properly or you are not following up on the "leads" given to you - sorry, but that's the truth.

The next step is listening to and ACTING on that intuitive guidance.  I'm sorry folks - but dreams are not going to pop out of thin air and drop in your lap the way many LOA products seem to infer.  Everyone is looking for an easy answer and those false promises sell a lot of products for their creators - but don't do a lot for you.  If you want something you have to plant the seed and then you have to tend it before you can achieve the harvest.

Clarity about what you truly want is the first piece, the second is visualizing productively and planning, and the next is focus and action... When you do these things you can begin to manifest changes very quickly in your life.

If you believe in it - you can do it.  So some find they benefit from faith building exercises.  Focus on something small - something you feel in your mind is very easy to attract or accomplish - and then do that.  Build from there and learn to recognize the way your thoughts sabotage or get in the way.  Preconditioned responses are sometimes difficult to break, the first step is recognizing them and then moving forward.  Accomplishments, even small ones, build momentum.  Keep track of your little victories in life and let them propel your energy forward.

If you need some more tools to help make all of these laws work for you, don't forget to visit my latest hub post "The 7 A's Easily Learn to Use the Law of Attraction"  These 7 key words will help you remember what you need to be doing! :)  Write them down, commit them to memory, print them and post them on the wall :) it's a great reminder

Law of Attraction - Turning "Bad" Feelings Into Something Useful

Bad Feelings are Natural and Beneficial

Huh? I can hear the response now! That can't be right can it?

In a lot of writings on the Law of Attraction the need to remove yourself from negative feelings is really stressed.  This is true, sort of.  We definitely shouldn't let feelings of fear, anger, sorrow etc overwhelm us for too long.  The challenge I think with many lessons on Law of Attraction and the other universal laws is that people tend to feel they have "avoid" rather than work with and reconstruct negative emotions.  It's almost as if we look at anger, fear etc as a personal failure so we cast it aside rather than embrace it.  That will always keep you struggling.

It is perfectly normal and natural to feel fear, anger, etc.  At times in life our circumstances or others are going to elicit these feelings and make us feel challenged in some capacity.  Rather than "ignore" it or push it away or chastise yourself for feeling the way you do - you have to consciously focus on its opposite and work to manifest that.  This is not the same as sweeping these feelings under the rug though.  If you simply ignore bad feelings without addressing the source - they will continue to come back.  If you pile guilt on top of that and push them away they grow malignant like a cancer to the soul.

When we grow a garden we have to continually weed that garden to allow it to grow and be fruitful.  When we merely pull at the weeds and don't remove the root - the weeds take over and choke off the garden.  Weeds are natural - weeds happen.  Anger, sadness, frustration, despair - those are all natural too - they happen.  Spiritual growth and enlightenment is a process of cultivation - of working to bring out our personal best through wisdom and inspired action.

Resist the urge to resist the challenging emotions.  Pushing them away is like pulling at weeds without removing the root - they are going to grow back and will be stronger than ever.

Working With Negative Emotions

When we see what we don't want.  When we feel that bad feeling, it is a cue to us to focus that energy on healing the source of the pain and on manifesting its opposite by focusing on what we do want.  So lets say for example you are feeling angry because your significant other or boss or someone close said something that offended you.

This of course brings up deeper emotions - perhaps anger that the person is acting unreasonably, or fear of rejection from this person, devaluing yourself due to the opinion of another you hold in high esteem, fear of failure, etc.

The key to moving past this is to acknowledge all of the feelings the situation has brought up and then to look at them not through the lens of raw emotion - but rationally.  Ask yourself (and I do this regularly lol) Is this situation truly going to matter in the grand cosmic scheme of things? Then ask yourself with honesty - could I have done something different? Is there a lesson in this for me? How can I grow from this? Reflect on these and you will not only heal from the initial anger/fear - but also grow at the same time (weeding the garden so the fruit can come forward) Sometimes other people are going to "wrong" us - and we are only human and we are going to make errors too - embrace it as part of experience and learning and then work to let it go in a manner that benefits all involved.

Often this act alone is enough to diffuse the negative emotions in place and instead of being reactive, or making a situation worse etc.  you turned it into an empowering experience for yourself.

We all have days where we want to reach out and slap somebody ;) those feelings are natural so long as you use them as a tool to get to the underlying problem that needs to be solved.  No matter how much we work on personal growth - eventually someone or something is going to get on our nerves and elicit an initially negative response.  Don't beat yourself up for having those thoughts - or you add more fuel to the negative vibe fire through guilt and chastising yourself etc.

Although these feelings are natural - we shouldn't wallow in them or ever ever act on them.  The wise see them for what they are - opportunities.  We always have a choice - we can take the high road or we can let our emotions overwhelm and rob us of our personal power.  Have you ever heard someone who has lashed out say "I don't know what came over me?"  - that's because we often push away and cast aside and that energy builds up like a pressure cooker until it reaches a breaking point.  Our job in working with Universal Laws is to not ever reach that point of meltdown where we lash out.

Can Law of Attraction Get Me Out of Debt?

A lot of people are drawn to learn about law of attraction and the other universal laws because they want to end painful conditions in their lives - like debt for example.  Many people feel burdened by debt and the key to releasing debt is to reform some of your attitudes.

First of all you don't want to focus on "debt" - but instead focus on building wealth.  What we target our energy towards is what manifests - so even if you are thinking "get out of debt" your thought process and energy are still aimed at what you don't want to see - debt.  Guess what you are then manifesting? ;)

When you say the word "debt" - use your feelings as a gauge to see if you are pointed in the right direction.  Debt brings up feelings of helplessness, insecurity, powerlessness, fear etc.  That is a sure sign that you are not thinking the right thoughts.  Now focus on its opposite(s) "wealth" and "opportunity" ... These words likely invoke feelings of peace, happiness, "lightness" or being released from a burden etc.  Those are the feelings and the thoughts you need to cultivate in order to draw money or solutions to the debt.

Does "stop thinking about debt" mean ignore it? No.  It means focus on what you DO want to see - more abundance.  Direct your energy towards increasing your prosperity.  Put your energy towards business, or developing yourself to set yourself up to be in a better position etc.  If you are so far in the hole that you can't get out consult a financial advisor about your options (rather than ignoring the debt) and then focus on a plan that helps you solve the problem.

If you focus on debt - regardless of how you phrase it, you will continue to attract "debt" - in the forms of money debt or in the feelings of lack and limitation which also in turn tend to lead to a decline in resources.  Focus on "more" not "less".  Also focus on more and accepting opportunities and building yourself up "now" not on "want"... If you say I want to be more successful - that means you will always "want" to be that - act as though you are already what you want to be and the universe will line up to make that true for you.

How Whole Being Wellness Helps with Law of Attraction

In order to manifest our hearts desire we have to align energetically with the things we hope to attract and experience.

We all have several "bodies" that work together - and in order to achieve higher vibrational energies it is very important to work to improve health on all levels.  When we are healthy, giving our body proper hydration, nutrition, and exercise our vibrations lift.  People who exercise regularly and eat right find they have boundless energy and can manage their time better because they don't have the "brain fog" or "dragging" feeling that many others have.

When we don't use our bodies regularly we tend to suffer from fatigue, aches, pains, etc that drag our vibrations down.  When we are tired and chronically feeling ill or tired - the lower vibrational energies of anxiety, fear, anger, etc can take hold easier.

It is important that we start to recognize the benefits of whole being wellness - we need to exercise our body, mind, and spirit and learn to reestablish a connection.  What we do for one "body" also effects the others.  If you exercise regularly you'll find your mind is sharper and your mood is improved.

Those who meditate and work with energy find they are able to assist the healing process of their bodies by consciously learning how to direct life force energy and raise to the vibrational frequency of healing.  This act of connecting spiritually and "plugging in" to source allows the mind/body to work together to facilitate faster recoveries from illness/injury etc.

When we sharpen our mind through puzzles or learning - we typically find a greater sense of well being and a creative "spark" or ideas start to flow.  When we trigger the mind through learning the process wants to continue - the mind loves information and wants more.  The mind also loves the expression of ideas - take time to creatively express yourself every day through a journal or art or music - whatever speaks to you.  You'll find that in doing so your thoughts/emotions flow more freely and you have less anxiety, pent up pressure etc.

The opposite is also true.  When we regularly eat junk food for example or engage in other bad habits that harm our body - our energy suffers, our mind becomes foggy, we start to feel the effects of lower vibrational energy through fatigue etc.

Another example is when we watch too much TV or spend too much time playing games etc. it atrophies the mind and creativity - have you ever watched a long movie or stayed in front of the TV so long that you felt exhausted mentally?

Spiritually, when we don't take time to connect to the divine, we begin to feel "small" and disconnected - anxiety and fear take over and we feel at the mercy of the world around us instead of empowered.  Regular meditation or other forms of spiritual practice help us to feel that connection with our source, to recognize we are larger than our daily troubles etc.  Without that time to connect the little stuff can pile up.

All of our bodies are not "separate" but a part of one functioning whole.  Whole being wellness is vital in working with law of attraction because it helps us to properly align our energy.  The closer we are to aligning our whole selves with this higher vibrational energy - the better the universal energy can flow through us and help us manifest the life of our dreams.

Focus on your current habits and ask yourself what you need to do to shift to a higher vibration in your daily life.  Do you need to watch your diet/fitness levels? Are you tired all the time? Do you need to take more time to learn or exercise the mind? Do you spend too much time with distractions? Do you take some "me time" each day to recharge your batteries?

Take some time today to assess with honesty (not judgment or criticism) what you may be doing that is lowering your vibration and take small steps to make corrections for this.  Every positive thing you do will have positive effects on the "whole" - the "whole" of you and the "whole" of all of us because we are all connected :).

I highly recommend activities that engage different areas simultaneously - yoga is a good example of an activity that helps you on all levels through physical movement and refocusing the mind on the "here and now".  I often practice meditation while exercising - it makes the time on a treadmill go faster and flow easier.  There are many techniques you can use to engage in whole being wellness - find something you love and let it raise your vibration.

Simple Concepts to Help You Use the Universal Laws Effectively - the "7 A's"

I wrote a new Hubpages hub today to share seven simple tips that will help you learn to use the universal laws effectively.  My hope is that the hub introduces people to more of the concepts we explore in depth here.

Sometimes I believe that we can make complex processes easier when we use things like acronyms or in this case all the concepts start with the letter A.

In coming posts I am going to go into greater detail about each of the "A's" and what all they truly entail, but the hub is a good primer.

If you're wondering ;) the 7 A's are:
  • Awareness
  • Acceptance
  • Allowing
  • Appreciation
  • Adjusting
  • Application
  • Attainment

The Sky is Falling!

The current environment is certainly one mired in fear.  Wall street up to its antics again and the media pushing huge fears of a deeper rooted "double dip" recession etc.  What humans at large fail to realize is that what we focus on manifests  - and nowhere is this more evident than on Wall street where we see giant drops in the market based on people's fears and talking themselves into a frenzy. It solves no problems, produces no solutions and ultimately causes pain - why? because we allow it, we engage in it and we let others tell us why "the sky is falling".  (remember chicken little? good read lol)

Throughout history mankind has been very good at letting his fear get the best of him - remember the persecution of witches for example? Mass hysteria where everyone turned on everyone for fear that evil was afoot and sure to destroy their lives.  This is just one of many historic examples of fear and paranoia destroying lives.  On hindsight we look back and say how stupid and juvenile that behavior was, but in the moment, those people were swept up in that powerful fear movement - so much that they couldn't see the forest for the trees and the result was great suffering.

Fear is a wonderful way for those in power to instill control and complacency in others.  When we fear the bogeyman we can be convinced to do all sorts of things we normally wouldn't consider.

Fear is very effective for marketing - how often do you notice advertisements play on your insecurities and fears to get you to buy a product or service?  If you don't use this you won't be beautiful enough, if you don't have that your neighbors will think you suck etc. We are so constantly bombarded with fear based thought/propaganda in so many areas of our lives it can be difficult to "break free".  We come to accept it as "normal" - and a constant state of anxiety/alarm, even when it feels subtle, causes us to miss out on joy in our lives.  It also causes health problems, mental/emotional stress, and feeling disconnected from our source.

One of the biggest threats to you ever reaching your fullest potential is to be swept away by the "sky is falling" mentality - that constant state of alarm/anxiety that is foisted upon us by everyone from wall street to advertising agencies and even the television programs/movies we love to watch to "escape".

The key to overcoming fear - and the hysteria that ensues , is to step back and take a deep breath and realize that there is nothing to fear truly but what you let in and decide to fear.  Don't get swept away in the currents of despair and turmoil.  Fight back - not by raging against fear, but by embracing its opposite.

If you fear money (loss of stability and freedom etc) you will attract more debt and less money (you'll repel it) - focus instead on manifesting opportunities, solutions, and doing what makes you feel "free to be you" - when you act authentically, and focus on manifesting (rather than avoiding or worry) you will find there is more than enough sustenance to go around.  Opportunities are there for everyone who embrace them.  People who get rich don't do so while believing money is hard to come by - if they believed that then money would not manifest and they would not feel compelled to act on the business ideas etc. that generate the high levels of income etc.

If you are afraid of how others view you - chances are you fear rejection, fear lack of acceptance etc. - in that instance the best way to "combat" that fear is to focus on loving you, turning your mindset around and focusing on your importance in this universe.  You are a living expression of the creator/universe/God - whatever you deem it to be.  Stop separating yourself from this source and stop being small  - it doesn't serve you and it doesn't serve the whole.  When you learn to value yourself you'll find that what others think of you truly won't matter to you as much - and you'll also find that you tend to only draw those who support and encourage you because you have aligned your vibration to love and acceptance which allows more of it to manifest in your life.  You cannot give others and others cannot give to you what you don't have within yourself.  Many people make the mistake of expecting others to "make them happy" - and at the end of the day still feel lonely and unfulfilled.  Fulfillment, acceptance, love all have to be cultivated from within to be truly experienced.

Be what you want to see in this world - don't succumb to fear and don't allow yourself to be controlled by external circumstances - you are at the helm of your own experience - always were and always will be - take the wheel and change your destiny.

When Time is the Enemy

When learning to work effectively with the universal laws it becomes important to reevaluate how we look at time.  When we get stuck in the past - pining away over how we wish something would have gone, feeling guilt, regret, etc. we remain stuck there.  We cannot hope for progress or new joy if we remain victims of the past.

Those who direct all their energy towards "future" goals also get caught in a similar trap.  They postpone joy and full awareness believing that happiness is a goal rather than a choice and part of the journey itself.  Joy, peace, gratitude should all have a place in the "now".  If you give all of your energy to the future, you will find that your bliss also remains in your future.

Does this mean you shouldn't have goals for the future? No - of course not.  Dreams and inspired actions because of those dreams are what keep us motivated and growing - embracing change.  What you should not do is pin the results (happiness, satisfaction) on the future - embrace those now.  Allow yourself to love the journey itself, be grateful for all of your experiences and you will find the universe opens so many doors for you that you can't fathom them all.

Being in the present, fully aware takes practice.  It requires us to slow down, to consciously direct our thoughts/emotions to "what is" as opposed to what was or what will be.  When we slow down to pay attention to our thoughts we often find they are directed anywhere but now - but the present is where you manifest.  Your thoughts right now are manifesting the energies that are making their way into your life.  If you interrupt that "now" thinking and redirect your energy backwards or forwards you lose momentum.

Does this mean you have to have total mind control at all times? No, but it does mean you need to learn to be mindful of where your thoughts/energy are going and redirect them.  When you notice things are not going as you like or you are feeling "off" or confused etc. it is a sure sign you've been living in the past/future and not in the now.

Retraining the mind takes dedication and practice, but it gets easier in time. Your mind is the most powerful thing you have, yet people often don't realize it and neglect it - and they find themselves struggling because of it.  Your mind is a great gift - and it is connected directly to Universal Knowledge and Wisdom.  "I am one with the Universal Mind" is a mantra I use regularly when I feel answers are not flowing easily.  I meditate on that, put myself completely in the present moment and let go of "time constraints" and impatience.  I know that the infinite flows through me and that my correct answers will appear in the time that is right - not the time constraints that I place out of a fear based need for a false sense of control.

Impatience and wanting everything immediately - that desire for instant gratification is a fear based belief system.  We get impatient when we fear things are not going to go our way.  That energy - fear, impatience, etc deafens our receptivity to the universe and causes our answers to elude us.  Put your problem or question out there to the universe in the now and know that your answers are manifesting and coming your way without a need for you to struggle to see them etc.  They will come to you if you let go and relax and allow them to happen according to divine providence/timing.

Those who learn to consciously focus their thoughts achieve greater levels of inner well being and find that they open up to many new possibilities.  Don't focus on "timelines" rather focus on where you are and how to use that to its fullest benefit so that the universe will lay out the clear path for you to walk into the future.

As for your past, look back long enough to bless it for what it has taught you and then redirect your attention/energy to the present.

Understanding What Drives You & Learning to Shift

A lot of awakening people tend to struggle with the guilt of emotions.  There is a misconception of "perfection" that itself is merely an illusion and tied to fears.  Many believe that to be enlightened or spiritually awake means you never get angry, never say something dumb, or have fears that you struggle with etc.

If you are "enlightened" suddenly you should be a perfect being who never grapples with the lower end of the emotional spectrum.  This is simply not true.  What awakened people do is look for the underlying reasons behind the undesirable emotions and then shift accordingly.

As humans there are times when we all feel angry, afraid, overwhelmed, sorrowful.  These emotions are all great, they serve a higher purpose so long as they are not allowed to take over and fester and grow into something truly damaging (anger into violence, or anxiety into crippling fears for example).

Learning to Shift

One of the quickest ways to shift your energy from the lower vibrations (anger, fear, depression) to the higher vibrations that help you manifest what you truly desire - is to stare your "demons" straight in the face.

The natural human response is to avoid or push aside or ignore negative emotions. We are taught to push aside or ignore anger and sadness.  We believe that if we avoid these emotions they will simply "go away", but what actually happens is they build up gradually and fester like an infection that will eventually take over.

Those who are going through a process of awakening find that suddenly all the garbage they thought they had cast aside comes back up to be cleared away.  Purification of the spirit is some of the hardest work we do because we have to face our pain with honesty.  We have to look at it and then muster up the courage to finally walk through it to free ourselves.  This process, although healing and cleansing, can bring up some very unpleasant experiences and emotions.

The key to further expansion is to not run away - recognizing that the only way to enlightenment is a willingness to walk through the darkness, eyes open and aware.  When someone angers you and you feel impatient (think traffic jams for instance) we often justify this anger with "I have important things to do I'm going to be late" etc.  What you are really angry about though is feeling powerless - suddenly your destiny is not in your hands (seemingly) and that feels bad.  Getting mad is actually easier to feel and deal with than feeling like you have no control... Chances are at other points in your life you also felt others were in control of your destiny and you didn't like it.  Perhaps it's not just the traffic - but you still feel that you are not in control, that your voice is lost in the sea of other voices and that you are not "heard" etc.

This goes back to separation and duality - not recognizing that you are a powerful being.  No one wants to feel powerless - it churns up other deeper emotions and feelings so we just get pissed off in the moment because it feels better than the deeper feelings that anger is likely pointing to on a deeper level.  A lot of "chronically late" people are actually rebelling against feelings of powerlessness ;) They don't mean disrespect etc. they are exerting their power (whether they realize it or not) by doing things on their own time - but in a way that is more self-sabotaging than helpful.

To deal with the pitfalls in life - you have to be willing to take the fall... really look at what is bothering you.  Typically we vent frustration at things that don't truly matter to avoid facing what really does.

What you do to avoid pain now will cause greater pain later - shift your perspective and empower your life!

That "path of least resistance" allure is actually what tends to lead us to deeper pain ultimately.  Have you ever noticed how often times great growth comes as the result of deep pain? People will often resist change until it is foisted upon them through a painful experience, simply because we are masters of avoidance.  The irony  - what we are avoiding is usually less painful to deal with head on than the circumstances that pop up later on to force us to change.

An example in my own life I can share.  I had my heart broken by my first real love many years ago and I swore I would never date a scum like that again, I was going to find a nice guy that would appreciate me etc.  Fast forward 3 years and I met and married a very nice man.  We married quickly, both for the wrong reasons, had a child and quickly learned that marrying the wrong person (even if they are nice) is a bad choice.

Well we had a child so we kept ignoring the larger problems that were brewing.  Eventually after nearly 8 years it reached a breaking point and we divorced with a lot of initial hard feelings and resentments... These didn't last however and we became what we should have been all along - fantastic friends who both love and share a wonderful child.

Eventually when the pain was too great that it exploded in our faces, we could no longer push aside or avoid what needed to be done.  After the pain of divorce though we both went on to find our ideal partners and so ultimately it worked out for the good of all, however in the interim we spent many years in a painful situation that we could have empowered ourselves to end all along, but we always had excuses.  We didn't want to hurt our son (but our constant fighting was what was hurting him, he was happier when we split) We didn't have the money to live separate lives, we didn't know if we could make it etc. so we kept living a lie trying to "make it fit" .. ignoring the emotions that were telling us constantly 'you're making the wrong choices"...

In life, your fears, anger, and hurt are gauges that are telling you something.  You can ignore and push aside and target your anger/fears onto "smaller targets", but that will never fix the larger problems until you face them with honesty.

You don't need (and shouldn't) push aside anger, fear, sorrow etc. they are a beautiful part of human expression and knowledge.  Learning to control emotions doesn't mean beating them into submission - it means working with them and trusting them as the barometer to your truth that they are.

Often what we do to make life "easier" - leads to more of the very thing we are trying to avoid.  It isn't enlightened or spiritual to demonize and push aside your emotions - love them and honor them (ALL of them) and allow them to teach you how to shift your thinking.

I'm right - so you must be wrong... or not?

Duality and separation are funny things.  As humans we tend to identify with what we deem as "right" at the expense of all other ideas/opinions, which by default of course must be "wrong".  It happens all the time - in politics, religion etc. especially.  That polarizing "with us or against us" theme that so many feel the need to partake in.

This is where I love the Buddhist teachings of "the middle road" and learning to be in the world but not of it.  In a universe so vast - we don't need to be "right" at the expense of everyone else.  I believe in the possibility and always have that "many roads lead to the Truth" and we are all having the experience we are having to learn something more about that truth.  Ultimately we are all a part of the same source - regardless of who we are, what we believe etc.

We come from the same source that created everything (The law of Divine Oneness) and duality and separation are illusions that we continue to engage in that are so limiting.  Open your mind to the vast possibilities and you soon see that there is no need to be "right" or "wrong" - you are here to just be.

Imagine a world where we allowed one another to truly be individuals - and respected them for their differences?  Would we not evolve so much faster as a species? It takes a lot of energy to fight all these battles of "right and wrong" and when we get too caught up in that we lose the ability to be open-minded.

I have been told often, by many people of different belief systems why I am "wrong" - I'm sure in life not one of us ever goes without hearing from someone why what we are doing, believe etc is "wrong" in their opinion.  Perhaps my way is wrong for some and that's fine - so long as they respect my path and I respect theirs.  If no one is being harmed - then what difference does it truly make?

In the vast universe of possibilities - all things are possible - hard to be "wrong" in a universe where all things are possible now isn't it?  Duality and opposition are an illusion.  If "God" or "The Universe" is behind all creation - then truly anything we've created has some basis in reality.  What if there are many "realities", what if "reality" is as infinite as the stars? What if "God" has many faces because it was by design?

There is no judge/jury save your higher self and your source - you are the power of the universe made manifest and you are larger than you think you are.  You have the right to be here and the right to live your own truth so long as it doesn't harm others or yourself.  Those who live according to the Universal laws understand that to harm another is to harm yourself.

Don't put off being who you truly are to please others or to keep others from fearing your beliefs etc.  Live authentically - it's the only way to find "God" anything else is an illusion.  Why do you think so many people feel lost and uncertain? Because they spend so much time trying to make their life make sense according to the constructs of others - and not their own experience.  We are taught to conform from a very young age and as we age it becomes harder to break free from that conditioning and seek our source - which leads of course then to more duality and separation... and a deeper descent into illusion that separates us even further from the truth we seek.

You are here to be who you are and to live authentically as an expression of the one creative power - whatever you deem  him/her/it to be.  Many people are tied to faith based and other belief systems that engage in strong fear based thought of "eternal punishment" and "God vs Satan" etc. The truth is there is light and darkness in each of us - and we must learn to embrace the whole of existence.  What we resist, persists so to "battle darkness" or deny its existence is to further indulge and empower that energy.  Viewing God as some distant, external Deity who is separate from us keeps us perpetually small and struggling.

Through acceptance lie the keys to understanding and with understanding comes wisdom and clarity.  You cannot achieve these things when mired in fear.  Fear itself is not a bad thing - it is a protection mechanism that tells you to protect yourself from danger etc. It has a higher functioning purpose, but when fear is cultivated through centuries of misguided thoughts or perceptions it becomes the very demon itself.  Fear needs to be kept in its proper perspective and not allowed to fester and grow into the very monster one is trying to avoid.

Namaste... (I bow to you) It is a Sanskrit word and sign of respect that says I acknowledge the place in you where the light of God abides.

If we can create our own reality - why do I experience negative things?

This is a very common question and one that has a simple, yet complex answer.  Most of us do not consciously create our own experiences at all times, in fact most people run on "autopilot" directing most of their energy to wherever their minds go and whatever they perceive to be experiencing.  A mind left to its own devices can be a dangerous thing.  Most of us let our minds control us - rather than learning to control the mind and that leads to a lot more struggle in life.

Most people will say "I would never create illness, poverty, etc." and my response to that is yes - you might.  No one likes to hear that.  No one wants to believe that their thoughts/actions can attract "bad" things.  The truth of the matter though is that where thoughts go energy flows.  Also important to note is that all experience is necessary - learn that illness makes you appreciate health, lean times make you appreciate abundance etc.  If you focus on turning your challenges into stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks you'll find the Universe truly opens up to you.

Some examples....

If you are ill - chances are you spend a lot of energy thinking about how bad you feel, how much you hurt etc.  If you have become ill the best way to heal and work with your body is not to focus on how bad you feel, but focus on how happy you are that your body is working to heal.  Focus on gratitude for the chance to rest.  Focus on anything positive and not on "woe is me"... If you focus on pain, discomfort, illness etc. it will continue to manifest.  Can you speed healing by redirecting your energy? Yes when applied properly.  This is the force in play with many "unexplainable" medical miracles.

Here is another example, some scientific studies on prayer showed that ill people who had others praying for them - whether they were believers or not and without knowing they were being prayed for - still healed faster than others.  Why? Because positive energy and healing manifesting energy was being directed towards that person and the individual was open to receiving that energy.  So it follows then, if you want to heal, you need to direct positive energy towards your healthy body as you work with your doctor of course ;).  Say thank you for healing body! Express gratitude for the opportunity to better appreciate a healthy body.  Meditate and visualize the healing light moving through you and all around you.

To maintain good health, take time to appreciate your body and all it goes through to sustain you every day.  The body is an AMAZING piece of machinery and face it - most of us severely neglect, abuse, and take it for granted.  I highly recommend visiting a "Body worlds" exhibit if one ever comes to your area - WOW.

Example Two

Another common example of a negative people don't realize they attract is debt/lack of money.  People tend to focus a great deal of their energy onto lacking money or fearing the loss of money.  What many fail to realize is A) What you focus on manifests and B) What you resist will persist.

Many people tie some of their greatest fears onto money and what they are really afraid of is not "money" but loss of security, feeling powerless, what others will think of them etc.  SO many fears are attached to "money" and fear is a very powerful energy - if you live your daily life chronically afraid of loss, expecting that you are limited to your current job/income,  and feeling overwhelmed by debt, ...  well guess what is going to continue to manifest in your life? Not only are you creating what you expect to see - you are resisting what you are afraid of - double whammy!

Want more money? Work on managing (not eliminating) your fears and FOCUS on abundance... focus on giving to others, focus on gratitude, focus on the opposite end of the spectrum - instead of fear, loss, lack etc. direct your energy towards prosperity, fulfillment, freedom, etc.
