The Law of Correspondence Your World is a Reflection

This law states that your outer world reflects your inner world.

You will experience what you think about and what you experience and perceive in your outer world is a direct reflection of your inner world.

Have you ever noticed how if you are in a very cluttered room you begin to feel dragged down, stifled, or overwhelmed?  Some feel an overwhelming need to straighten the area, to give it order. Others turn a blind eye to the mess almost instinctively.  Perhaps making excuses like "I have no space, or I am so disorganized" Most of us battle this in our homes or work places at some point,   some to a larger degree than others.

Hoarding for example has become a huge problem - and the people who engage in this are often using "stuff" to literally bury their emotions and problems, rather than bringing them out into the light of day to be dealt with.  On the other end of the spectrum are people who have such strong OCD compulsions they never stop cleaning, the fear of disorder or germs etc take over.  It's never enough and there is a need for more comfort through control etc.

Looking at these two scenarios we see how our outer world is a direct reflection of what is going on within our inner world.  The person who is buried by clutter and feeling overwhelmed by it is almost always "burying" or feels overwhelmed by something they can't face emotionally.

The person who obsesses over germs and cleanliness is afraid of what is beyond his/her control.  They continually clean and sanitize (which is actually harmful) in an effort to feel they are controlling the world around them.  There is a sense of powerlessness and fear deep down that is buried by this activity.

What Influences You? Do You Even Know Anymore?

An example and what helped me to reshape both my inner and my outer world is to pay attention to what influences you.  We turn the TV OFF.  We do not watch the news, "reality tv" or get bombarded by advertisements constantly that play on fears and insecurities.  This was the best thing our family ever did for our sanity and peace of mind.  We watch family friendly movies and programs commercial free via Roku in extreme moderation. We read the news once or twice per week just to stay abreast of what is important in the world, but refuse to be "news junkies" or overtaken with all the negativity.

The media loves FEAR and so do businesses! What better way to make you buy tons of beauty potions, diet pills, expensive items you don't need etc. than to play on your fears.  The images of women you see are fake.  I work with Photoshop as a professional - trust me!  Fear of not being "perfect" causes people to consume more - to buy the next gadget or potion in an attempt to live up to an illusion that will never be reality.  I read once where Cindy Crawford said "I wish I looked like Cindy Crawford" In other words the makeup, expensive lighting and Photoshop are what create that image and she doesn't actually look like that in daily life.  This is just one example.  There are always images of "happy people" with expensive cars, jewelry etc. giving the illusion that if you get enough stuff you'll suddenly be happy.  It's an illusion and it creates fear based thinking that robs people of joy rather than creates it.

Have you ever felt tired and just "edgy" after watching crime dramas or the news? Especially the news, because in a half hour you may be bombarded with hundreds of negative stories.  This gives a skewed perception of reality.  Suddenly the world looks far more dangerous than it actually is, people start to become so paranoid that we all live in isolation from each other.  We don't feel connected like we used to.  There is always a sense of impending doom and a need to be over vigilant against danger etc.  This isn't to suggest throw caution to the wind of course, but I remember as a child going outside, riding bikes, playing in the woods etc. until it was dark and then I had to be home when the street lights came on.  ALL of the neighborhood kids had that freedom.  We had fun, we stayed fit and healthy, and had better social skills than young people today who are kept in a bubble and who rely on texts and tweets for their social skills.

Crime existed when we grew up too, but as a society we were not obsessed with it and bombarded by images of it constantly.  We kept it in its proper perspective and were educated about how to protect ourselves and trust our instincts.  Today we don't give our young people that opportunity, because we've become too obsessed with trying to protect them and smother them.

So back to the original point - what you focus on in your outer world is a direct reflection of what you need to address in your inner world.  This law is hard to embrace, because it means looking at ourselves with genuine honesty and that often means having to admit we are wrong about how we perceive ourselves and the world around us.  Who really enjoys admitting they are wrong?

If you want to change your vibrations - you have to eliminate habits that keep you in negative mindsets.  Reduce your exposure to media, advertising, sensationalism etc.  Acknowledge that these things influence you more than you realize and then work to deprogram those ideas (this takes considerable time and effort but life is so much lighter and freer when you do this)

I have run the gamut in my life, from being sloppy to being very obsessive about my home.  After addressing my inner world, I finally came to a place where I am a "happy medium".  I don't feel compelled to be a super hero mom/woman anymore.  I don't need to obsesses to be worthy of love.  I do not feel buried or overwhelmed anymore and therefore I naturally became better organized.  I was able to streamline my inner thinking and that allowed me to get control of my "stuff" - to keep what I truly need and want to use and to get rid of extra clutter.  I know that my family will still love me if there is a dish left in the sink or laundry left to do.  I know it doesn't mean I've failed as a mom etc.  The image of a "super mom" is fake - and many women are running themselves into the ground trying to uphold that image to their own detriment.  When you run yourself ragged, there is nothing left to give and that makes our families suffer.

Sometimes the inner world is harder to tackle - in that case start with your external world.  If you are a pack rat, start letting go.  It hurts, it's difficult at first - and that's because getting rid of stuff in your environment directly results in starting to let go of "stuff" in your inner world. It's all connected.

If you obsess the other way, start to give up some of that false sense of security and need for control. You will NEVER be able to control the outside world no matter how much you work yourself up ;). Your family will still love you even when the house looks lived in ;).  The only thing we are in true control of at all times is our own thoughts/actions.  Work to take some of your power back by focusing on what you can control, rather than obsessing over what you can't.

Those who get stuck in anger, resentment, and other self-sabotaging emotions and beliefs find that they tend to draw more chaos into their lives – and they likely don't realize they are doing it.

What is the Universal Law of Compensation?

The Universal Law of Compensation doesn't refer to the word in the way we've come to think of it.  Typically when we think of compensation we think of salary/wages paid for a job completed.

When it comes to understanding the universal laws or constants, compensation has a somewhat different meaning.

The Law of Compensation states that you get back what you give to others.  This law is stated in many scriptures and ideas you are likely already familiar with "do unto others as you would have done to you" or the famous Gahndi saying "be the change you wish to see in the world".

It is a basic understanding that what you project is returned to you. Like attracts like.  If most of what you send out into the world is positive, most of what you receive in return will also be positive.  If you work to be a strong, nurturing, and supportive person for others, chances are when you are in need of support yourself you will have this same strength and support returned to you.

The biggest lesson of this law - give freely to others what you want to see yourself.

Some people misinterpret this, especially when it comes to things like money.  Does this law mean that to receive abundance in the form of money - you should give away the money/resources you have? No.  What you should do however, is give away your generosity freely.  Give of your time, your talents, your wisdom, love etc. and give it freely to all who need it.  In return you'll find that abundance and generosity find their way back to you in the time and form you need.

Unfortunately, this law works in reverse as well.  Have you heard the phrase "misery loves company"?  This means that people who are angry, hurting, feeling negative send out the energy vibrations of hurt, anger, etc. and in return they attract more people or circumstances that return to them what they are projecting.  It can certainly be a vicious circle at times.

An example of this - think back to a day where first thing in the morning something went wrong and it really made you mad or anxious.  Did you find the rest of the day kind of spiraled? It's because the energy you were projecting with such passion was being reflected back to you.  Typically how we start our day will be very close to how we finish it.

For this reason, a good habit to get into is focusing on gratitude and abundance first thing in the morning.  Really get into it and let yourself feel it deeply with every fiber of your being.  When you do this, you'll find that this positive, focused energy is returned to you throughout the day.  You'll be able to handle any challenges with greater ease and everything will flow more smoothly.  You'll also be a positive influence on others - because smiles and joy are contagious too :).  Have you ever been around someone genuinely happy and smiling - or someone who was laughing and not felt the urge to smile yourself?

Be what you want to see - it will come back to you.

The Universe Within You - The Law of Divine Oneness Beautifully Illustrated

Often we feel so small in life and it is that sense of smallness and separation that keep us held back.  It is difficult to manifest our large dreams when our thoughts are small.

Yesterday I wrote a hub called "You - Yes You! are Beauty and Greatness Beyond Comprehension.

It beautifully illustrates how you are a walking, breathing universe in your own right.

You have within every cell of your being the keys to life itself - and within your body are 75 trillion - yes trillion cells - that is far more than the number of stars in the Milky Way galaxy!

Every cell of your body is a working universe in its own right with millions of working parts that all work separately yet are part of a whole. There are millions of atoms in a single cell.  If even one part is out of place the cell cannot function properly.

Every cell of your body also functions within a group dependent upon it's type - heart, lungs, skin, brain, etc. and each of your individual parts have billions of cells that operate them.

You are made to perfection - the beauty, power and divine intelligence or universal mind is at work in every tiny fiber of your being and you have within you a universe more vast than the one you live in! We are all connected and we are all one.

The population of Earth as of 2011 is roughly 6.9 Billion - The Earth itself has less inhabitants than ONE of your cells has working parts.

We are a living, breathing working part of Life itself - within you are the keys to existence - it is not distant from you it is present in every cell of your body and your body is massive beyond comprehension and yet you can't even see the individual parts - but they work together splendidly giving you the ability to breathe, see, hear, bear children, run, walk, feel, think etc.

Read my latest hub and learn more about the Universe within you - the perfect illustration of the "Law of Divine Oneness"  You are more powerful than you think you are - you are already made to perfection - a living work of art - an expression of the one Source.

When Time is the Enemy

When learning to work effectively with the universal laws it becomes important to reevaluate how we look at time.  When we get stuck in the past - pining away over how we wish something would have gone, feeling guilt, regret, etc. we remain stuck there.  We cannot hope for progress or new joy if we remain victims of the past.

Those who direct all their energy towards "future" goals also get caught in a similar trap.  They postpone joy and full awareness believing that happiness is a goal rather than a choice and part of the journey itself.  Joy, peace, gratitude should all have a place in the "now".  If you give all of your energy to the future, you will find that your bliss also remains in your future.

Does this mean you shouldn't have goals for the future? No - of course not.  Dreams and inspired actions because of those dreams are what keep us motivated and growing - embracing change.  What you should not do is pin the results (happiness, satisfaction) on the future - embrace those now.  Allow yourself to love the journey itself, be grateful for all of your experiences and you will find the universe opens so many doors for you that you can't fathom them all.

Being in the present, fully aware takes practice.  It requires us to slow down, to consciously direct our thoughts/emotions to "what is" as opposed to what was or what will be.  When we slow down to pay attention to our thoughts we often find they are directed anywhere but now - but the present is where you manifest.  Your thoughts right now are manifesting the energies that are making their way into your life.  If you interrupt that "now" thinking and redirect your energy backwards or forwards you lose momentum.

Does this mean you have to have total mind control at all times? No, but it does mean you need to learn to be mindful of where your thoughts/energy are going and redirect them.  When you notice things are not going as you like or you are feeling "off" or confused etc. it is a sure sign you've been living in the past/future and not in the now.

Retraining the mind takes dedication and practice, but it gets easier in time. Your mind is the most powerful thing you have, yet people often don't realize it and neglect it - and they find themselves struggling because of it.  Your mind is a great gift - and it is connected directly to Universal Knowledge and Wisdom.  "I am one with the Universal Mind" is a mantra I use regularly when I feel answers are not flowing easily.  I meditate on that, put myself completely in the present moment and let go of "time constraints" and impatience.  I know that the infinite flows through me and that my correct answers will appear in the time that is right - not the time constraints that I place out of a fear based need for a false sense of control.

Impatience and wanting everything immediately - that desire for instant gratification is a fear based belief system.  We get impatient when we fear things are not going to go our way.  That energy - fear, impatience, etc deafens our receptivity to the universe and causes our answers to elude us.  Put your problem or question out there to the universe in the now and know that your answers are manifesting and coming your way without a need for you to struggle to see them etc.  They will come to you if you let go and relax and allow them to happen according to divine providence/timing.

Those who learn to consciously focus their thoughts achieve greater levels of inner well being and find that they open up to many new possibilities.  Don't focus on "timelines" rather focus on where you are and how to use that to its fullest benefit so that the universe will lay out the clear path for you to walk into the future.

As for your past, look back long enough to bless it for what it has taught you and then redirect your attention/energy to the present.

Welcome to the Universal Laws Explained Website and Blog

I was inspired to create this website/blog due to the popularity of a Hub I wrote called "The Twelve Universal Laws Explained in a Nutshell".  It was a great primer, but universal laws are very complex and require more space and thought to explore in detail.

I have worked for many years with the principles of Universal Laws and have learned a great deal on my journey from teachers, my guides, and other sources of wisdom along the path.  I know that there is no "quick fix" solution to finding our soul purpose or making life easy.

There are however simple concepts and practices that can lead to great personal understanding and growth, and the goal is to share those ideas and tools here.

Anyone who learns to value themselves enough to devote time to inner exploration can learn to co-create their own destiny.   Living life according to certain principles will lead you to more clarity, a deeper sense of self and higher purpose, and joyful, abundant living.

People all want different things - but typically what lies beneath the desire for these different things is the craving we all have for freedom - freedom from fear and limitations.  The universal laws hold the keys to this freedom and through this blog I hope to share the keys with you.
